Fee Structure
We would like to fulfill your request. While some of our records are housed at the synagogue office, most of our archives - especially older materials - are stored in an offsite facility in New Jersey, and are only accessible by designated Shearith Israel personnel or by special arrangement. Our sexton manages this material and will visit the archives from time to time. Your request will likely be handled at these times. For urgent or extensive needs, our charges may reflect the special attention needed and costs involved for us to fullfill your request.
Your request will be evaluated upon receipt. Within a few days you will receive an email determination whether we are able to access the information you have requested. You will also receive a fee estimate at that time. Our standard administrative fee for requests that can be looked up, scanned, or copied from records located in the synagogue building is $25. For records that require access to our NJ storage facility a fee of $150 will apply. For rushed or immediate needs additional fees may apply. You will be informed of any costs before your request will be fulfilled.
